Actually there are lots of similarity that they all focus on the wisdom of Chan (Zen) and health in mind and body. Confucianism: Actually the concept of Taiji was defined by Confucius, because in order to teach the ancient Yin-Yang and Ba-Qua wisdom and philosophy, it is important to make that ancient wisdom more visualized. Therefore in Confucianism we often find a lot of commonalities with the Taoism. Confucianism basically focuses on moral, manner, attitude and behaviors that shape the peace and harmony in the society. The root and the most challenging in peace and harmony for a greater peace and harmony with society and nature begin from each individual. Starting from the moment we were born, the clock of life started to click. Burden comes with the accumulation of living experience. The past has gone that no one (not even God or holly spirits) can make any change, some choose ignorance or avoidance but eventually we all have to face the self-consciousness mirror. We all have different dreams for a better future but we also recognize on the path of future might full of unexpected and uncontrollable factors to influence our choice and the outcome. What we do and how we live today plant seeds for our future; before hoping to be enlightened and become a Buddha, we first need to recognize and enrich our health and humanity as a health human being. To put those extraordinary philosophies and wisdom in actions for a better health and quality of life, the initiation and awareness starting from ourselves and we need to act today, now. |
